Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services - Microsoft SSRS

Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) provides a full range of ready-to-use tools and services to help you create, deploy, and manage reports for your organization, as well as programming features that enable you to extend and customize your reporting functionality. Reporting Services enables you to share valuable enterprise data to deliver real-time information to support your daily operations and decision-making.

SQL Server Reporting Services is a comprehensive server solution that allows you to create, manage and deliver traditional writing style statements and interactive Web reports. Microsoft Business Intelligence Reporting Services is an integral part of architecture, which combines SQL Server and Microsoft Windows Server. Using Microsoft Visual Studio® .NET and the Microsoft .NET Framework or SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio, developers can leverage the capabilities of their existing information systems and connect to custom data sources, produce additional output formats, and deliver data to a variety of devices.

SSRS is a server-based reporting platform that provides comprehensive reporting functionality for a variety of data sources. Reporting Services includes a complete set of tools for you to create, manage, and deliver reports, and APIs that enable developers to integrate or extend data and report processing in custom applications. Microsoft SSRS tools work within the Microsoft Visual Studio environment and are fully integrated with SQL Server tools and components.

Reporting Services provides the key to your business data.

  • Tailor reports specifically to your organization’s needs.
  • Publish reports, schedule report processing, or access reports on-demand.
  • Create ad hoc reports based on predefined models, and to interactively explore data within the model.
  • Select from a variety of viewing formats, export reports to other applications, and subscribe to published reports.
  • Create interactive, tabular, graphical, or free-form reports from relational, multidimensional, or XML-based data sources.
  • Reports can be viewed over a Web-based connection or as part of a Microsoft Windows application or SharePoint site.

Because Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services contains reports that work with your organizational data, your teams can quickly build relevant reports, manipulate information, and then share it across your organization.
